Mission & Values

The purpose, vision, and values that guide Leaving The Jar.

Our Vision

We want to break the cycle of ignorance — showing those who are trapped that there is a way out, and showing those on the outside how they can help.

We envision a world where awareness replaces silence, where vulnerability is met with action, and where hope and healing extend beyond one moment to impact generations.

Our goal is to create a self-sustaining structure for rescue and rehabilitation. Through both our training efforts and our boots-on-the-ground work, we seek to cultivate multi-generational impact rooted in healing, dignity, and lasting freedom.

Our Mission

Leaving The Jar exists to combat human trafficking through prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation.

We are dedicated to the following pillars:

Prevention

We educate and raise awareness through training programs, workshops, and community outreach. Our prevention efforts equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize risk, understand trafficking realities, and act before exploitation occurs.

Intervention

We identify individuals at risk and step in with tangible support — including scholarships, mentorship, and access to safe opportunities — to remove vulnerabilities and disrupt the cycles traffickers exploit.

Rehabilitation

We provide holistic rehabilitation programs that address the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of survivors. Our goal is to empower survivors to reclaim their lives and pursue futures marked by stability, dignity, and hope.

Our Core Values

Our values shape how we serve, who we center, and why we stay committed even when the work is difficult.

Love Deep — Working Directly with Survivors

We walk alongside survivors as they build the lives they want to live. This work is challenging and long-term, but it is how we love deeply and authentically — helping survivors rediscover dignity, healing, and the truth that restoration is possible.

Serve Wide — Supplying Resources to Help People Leave

We engage individuals who are still vulnerable or at risk by offering practical resources, support, and pathways to safety. Every situation is different, but our commitment is the same: to meet people where they are and help them see a way forward.

Reach Far — Educating Others on the Crisis of Trafficking

We educate those who are unaware of the realities of human trafficking. With clarity, compassion, and conviction, we help communities understand the signs, impact, and urgency of trafficking in today’s world.

Our Faith

Leaving The Jar is a faith-rooted organization, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our faith shapes how we see people — not as problems to solve, but as individuals worthy of love, dignity, and restoration. It calls us to pursue justice with humility, to serve with compassion, and to walk faithfully with those who have been harmed.

While our foundation is Christian, we are committed to serving all people with respect and care, regardless of background or belief.
